To Bernard’s horror, he met me,lol.
Well not met but got stuck with.
I bought this beautiful Tenor Bondi Tiger Oak Ukulele but my place is so humid, it did not like it so I traded it in for a Baritone Ziricote. But then I decided I preferred the Tenor so sent the Baritone back and got a Tenor Kala Ziricote.
But it had a couple of little scratches on it so got in contact with poor Bernard
AGAIN. Being the awesome place it is with the the most kind hearted and patient staff that I have ever come across, he offered a great discount if I wanted to keep it which I did as it’s so beautiful. So with the discount I bought the pink Bondi Shock hard case for it. I love that as much as the uke.
I thought I would give Bernard a break from me but couldn’t help myself and just received today my beautiful strap plus two packs of strings in case one breaks as I play everyday. Being the amazing people they are, they added for free a string winder and another pack of different strings that they want me to try as they think they are some of the best. You NEVER just get what you order. It’s like Christmas every time I receive a package from them.
My next Uke will be the 8 string electric then banjo.
It’s worse than tattoos, once you start, you can’t stop lol.
But seriously these guys and gals are the best.
Thank you UKEMATE
For really caring.
I was upgrading from a mahogany soprano ukulele (KALA) I’d owned for about 2 years to upgrade to a tenor. I have to admit, it was a very good choice. I usually never leave reviews on anything, but the service was just too good, every came in really fast and I even got a pair of ukulele themed socks. Ukulele sounds mellow and rich, just as expected. Here’s a clip of me playing my new ukulele. Also just some advice, if you’re jumping from soprano and tenor, your hands will stretch and will be able to adapt, despite what everyone else says. I have medium sized hands and I’m finding the tenor just the right challenge! I’m completely self taught so I hope this can inspire people to play ukulele. Enjoy :)
I was gifted a Kala concert at Christmas from Ukulelemate and have had a ton of fun in the last months, so decided that an upsize tenor would be an even better fit. Got it - a Kala tenor with the least hustle again from Ukulelemate. It looks great and I’m really well satisfied with deeper sound it resonates.
I don't usually do reviews, but the customer service provided by everyone at ukulelemate is always second to none and deserves recognition...this purchase was my 4th with them and certainly no exception, I had a few extra questions with this one and again they went out of their way to help me and I couldn't be happier.
This Tenor Kala Ziricote ukulele is all I expected and it is visually absolutely stunning! Sound is sweet and mellow and just what I was looking for...it definitely punches above its weight for a laminate, lovely projection and sustain.
Speaking of weight this is a heavy ukulele, I was aware of this when I bought it thanks to all the reviews ukulelemate provided so it doesn't worry me, but if you don't like a heavy instrument this might not be for you.
Shout out to Jeff too I have enjoyed my free lessons with him, made me feel very comfortable...and I am a shy person, and have enjoyed putting the new skills he taught me into practice.
Overall I am a very happy customer. If you are nervous about buying online don't be with these guys.
Very good very helpful staff members and the ukulele was all I expected.
Looks incredible and sounds even better. For a laminate it sure does give my solid wood ukes a run for their money. Ukulelemate were kind enough to provide a low G string with my order, was easy to setup and now sounds even better. Thanks guys
All ukuleles under $1000 are made in China. There are a handful of instruments made in the USA/Australia but they come with a hefty price tag and aren't always worth the price. Often the more affordable instruments are just as good, if not better. At ukulelemate, we have tested thousands of instruments and found the sweetspot where quality meets value.

The setup process if fairly similar for all instruments but we will spend more time on the more expensive models. The budget models will receive all of the crucial checks but we won't spends as much time on things such as fretboard lemon oil.
