Bondi brings a spotlight to an underused tone wood in the Tiger Oak Ukulele Series. Oak is a beautiful wood with a rich tone that?s similar to mahogany, but a bit brighter. Your eyes are first drawn to the unique striping on the top, back and sides. This is perfectly contrasted with a dark Ebony fretboard and bridge.
Everything is capped off with Caesar Herringbone binding and rosette, and a pearl inlayed logo on the headstock. Each ukulele comes equipped with Silk Chrome tuning machines that give you precise tuning control. The tuning machines are closed back which keeps the gears oiled and the dust out.
All of the ukuleles in this series have a natural matte finish that makes the neck fast and smooth to play. The Tiger Oak Series brings a balance of stunning looks, brilliant tone, and something a little bit different for the discerning player.

The unique tone wood of the Bondi Tiger Oak Tenor Electric ukulele is all warmth and heart, and definitely draws the eye. With a balanced sound and considered make, this solid wood tenor uke lends itself to all styles of playing. Fingerpicking has been aided by nut and saddle adjustment to lower the action (and my preference for a low-G string set-up) but right out of the box this is an instrument that brings a smile. A matte finish allows the oak to realise its resonant potential (which will only improve with age), and makes working your way up and down the ebony fretboard a breeze. The closed geared tuners are both sensible and solid enough, and the KLT-21 pick-up with inbuilt tuner does the job without buzz or fuss. Plugging this uke into my 180 watt FX amp was so much fun! Then I added the loop station 🤣 .... All up, this is a value-for-money option that over delivers in terms of build quality, and is a great entry-level tenor for those who are looking for something a little different (the goodies pack was a delightful bonus!). So good is the UkuleleMate customer service, care and instrument range that this little one was quickly joined by two others (a banjolele - pure delight to play, and a robust carbon fibre option to take with me in my vintage caravan). Instant uke family! Thank you for going above and beyond, UkuleleMate, keep doing what you so brilliantly do!
This is a wonderful uke, looks and sounds great - I am very happy with the purchase and glad I got a hard case. The solid wood is just beautiful.
The only little issue was I had to take the bridge piece out and shave about 2-3mm off it to lower the action and make it reasonable - now it plays like butter. Why don't they come alredy done? Iused to have to do this with yamaha acoustic guitars as well.
I would totally recommend this uke and the wesome staff at ukulelemate :)
Joel helped me in my purchase of a Uke for my husband's birthday. It arrived promply and my husband loved it! Very helpful staff & amazing products.
I had a KA-CE for a few years and ended up giving that to my friend to learn on. Loved that instrument a lot........but this oak uke is a big step up in quality. The wood pattern is amazing, had a nice tone not too bright or mellow. Right in the middle. Yep Im very happy thanks a lot John for the recommendation
The bondi oak tenor electric is a top shelf instrument in every possible way. If I could, Id give it more stars. Everything about it is perfect, sounded great right out of the box. It also has a 3band EQ which is handy because my guitar has a similar pickup. Incredible service from the team at Ukulelemate, thank you thank you thank you
