Banjo ukuleles combine the classic twang and tone of banjos with the familiar playability of ukuleles. The concert sized bondi vintage clawhammer banjo ukulele is an open back instrument. Open back banjo ukuleles remove a lot of the muddiness you'll find in closed back versions.
This combined with the all maple neck and frame give you wonderful natural projection. The stripped rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge, and dense bone nut give you maximum sustain for a banjo instrument.
This one is finished in a classic Tobacco Sunburst matte finish for a stunning look and smooth playability. Bondi strings this up with Aquila Super Nylgut strings which are a vegan version of traditional gut strings. Paired with the Remo vintage style skin, you get a classic banjo tone.
The banjo ukulele is complimented with chrome hardware that contrasts the darker finish perfectly.

I was initially very apprehensive about purchasing this banjo ukulele. It’s a very sturdy little guy with a beautiful sound. I can’t wait to get more skilled and find its full potential. Me/10 would recommend. Plus it’s a solid conversation starter.
I wanted to add more finger picking songs into my repertoire and a lot of the videos I came across featured banjoleles. I fell in love with the sound watching numerous bluegrass tutorials and knew exactly where I could find the perfect instrument to add to the family from browsing this site for dozens of hours. My other ukes have been clearance purchases for minor and really unnoticeable “flaws” (I say character) and I’m very happy to throw this guy in the mix.
It looks amazing with the sunburst neck and feels so solid in hand. The sound is sweet and soothing and adds a special frequency I won’t get from my other ukuleles. It’s like playing a whole different instrument using the knowledge of chord shapes and fingering I already possess.
I got it yesterday and have been having so much fun playing that I can hardly feel my fingertips! 😅
Eagerly looking forward to my next purchase from ukulelemate which will have to be a baritone or ubass of some sort.
The customer service is amazing and to top it off the postie arrived 4 days earlier than estimated which bought a lot of joy to my weekend.
Thank you so much to all the team.
What a great pleasure it is to play this instrument with my UKE band of 40 people. It adds a richness to the sound. Easy to play and not to heavy to hold like a real banjo. Comes with all the accessories you need. I highly recommend this instrument and the Supplier.
Happy with the instrument but there strap supplied is not sduityable
Excellent instrument and looks fantastic.
Good quality with a banjo sound.
Having a ball learning this and love the look and feel.
Great little instrument. Only learning, so no video! Having SO much fun. Already got 2 strumming techniques under way, but not yet proficient. Recommend this to put smiles on ya dials 🤪
