Our review

Aquila's Sugar Ukulele Strings are made from a transparent plastic material derived from sugarcane. This material adds a light vibrato and timbre variation to the strings that fluorocarbon can't match. They blend traits of nylon and fluorocarbon strings for a sweet, clear, and prompt sound with plenty of sustain and projection. Don't let the name fool you, these strings are easy to grip and fret but won't cause sticky fingers.

Aquila Sugar strings for tenor high G

These strings are pretty good my view was that they had a bright tone with good sustain. Although at times I did have some string noise when I was finger picking.

Sweet strings

I have a Kala Pacific Walnut Tenor which came with the usual Aquila Nylgut strings. I have now changed the strings to the Aquila Sugar strings. They are quite different … and like change in general … it can take awhile to get used to. I really like the sugar strings … they have a glassy feel/sound which l enjoy and hold their tune very well … cheers

Sugar strings

Bought two sets of sugar strings for tenor ukulele on both sets the A string snapped when tuning. Went back to nylgut no problems

Aquila Sugar Ukulele Strings for Tenor

The gut strings in my ukulele were fraying so I had a look to see what you had to offer. The Aquila Sugar strings were a good bit dearer than others but sounded great in your demonstration video. I brought a set and I'm delighted with the way they sound on my ukulele. And they stay in tune. They're well and truly worth the extra cost. Excellent!
