Our review

Nylgut is a synthetic plastic compound that stays in tune with accurate fret intonation. With a density similar to pure gut, Nylgut produces a natural sound and is stable under moisture changes. This product listing is for a wound low G string that pairs nicely with the nylgut strings.

Aquila Low G, new dimension to Uke

I bought the low G as I'm learning the beautiful Beatles song Blackbird. It takes a while to get used to the different sound of the chords and in fact I prefer the old sound for some songs. However the low G is a game changer when tackling some of the more complex songs and little lead runs. Family and friends are asking how a uke can sound so melodic, since I've had the low G, so I think that speaks for itself. Low G Aqila AQ16U, way to go!!!

Getting better and better

To be honest when I first put my new set of strings with the low G I wasn’t sure I was a fan, but the more I’ve played it I’ve appreciated the extra versatility a low G offers. The strings have settled in well now and I’m loving them… give ‘‘em a try
