Closed Back Banjolele in Tenor
Ohana’s Banjolele is a remarkable hybrid instrument that combines the plucky, twangy tone of the banjo with the bright, sunny tuning and scale length of the ukulele. It sounds ambitious, but it works.
This particular model is discontinued on our site due to low stock, so we thought we would showcase it here instead. The body and neck are made of luxurious Solid Maple with a satin sunburst finish. The drumhead is a Remo WeatherKing synthetic skin. The tuning pegs and hardware are metal. Of note is the closed back which tends to project the sound forward unlike open back models.
If you are after a banjolele, you will be in good hands with Ohana. The instrument is punchy, plucky, and loud. It’ll be hard to find something as good at this price point.

Hummingbird fretboard, Mahogany Top, Back, & Sides
The Arcadia Series by Bondi Ukuleles are one of the best value instruments we have ever played. Most ukuleles in the price range of $100-$400 will have some kind of compromise, they may look great but be poorly setup, they may lack the wow factor, they may lack the finishing touches, there always seems to be a shortcut taken from my experience.
I can tell you that the Arcadia series is one of the first ukes in this price range that ticks every single box. Not a single compromise.
They are perfectly built and have phenomenal playability with Japanese carbon strings. They also look gorgeous with an indigo pearl rosette, maple body binding and fretboard binding. The logo is inlayed which looks and feels way better than other ukes in this price range which use cheap stickers or screen printing.
Super impressive ukulele for the price.

Solid Mahogany Top, Back, & Sides
The standard Bondi Pacific Mahogany has a solid Mahogany top. When talking about solid ukuleles, the top is really all that matters, as this is the primary surface that resonates the instrument’s sound. This one-off model, however, is completely solid (top, back, sides). The only other minor differences to the regular stock is the pearl soundhole rosette and logo inlay.
Funnily enough, while it is an all solid instrument, it doesn’t sound drastically different from the solid top version. There is a fair chance that the instrument’s sound profile will age differently, but only time will tell. Nonetheless, this Pacific Mahogany is a well crafted tenor, made from high quality Mahogany. It sounds pure, crisp, and well-rounded. For a price below that of regular stock it is an absolutely bargain. Essentially a better instrument (all solid!) at a discounted price.
