Officially known as “Ground Theme” or “Overworld Theme", the Super Mario Bros tune is a musical theme originally heard in the first stage of 1985 Nintendo video game Super Mario Bros. It’s actually one of the six themes composed by Koji Kondo.
The theme is set in the key of C Major and the sound features a swung rhythm. The composer used a syncopated rhythmic pattern to create a fun and entertaining melody which is a reflection of the video game’s identity.
In this tutorial, Jeff will show you the basic melody for beginners. This version was kept simple for the most part so beginner ukulele players can easily learn how to play it. Enjoy!
