Ukuleles have been around for centuries and their popularity has only grown in recent years. They are a great option for anyone looking for an instrument that is easy to learn, portable, and sounds great. Our Striped Ebony ukuleles offer a wide selection of mid to high end ukuleles that are not only beautiful to look at, but also sound amazing.

Ebony is a popular fingerboard and bridge wood, known for its hardness and smoothness. It also works well as a body wood. The tightly packed grain produces a strong, resonant sound, not too dissimilar to a Spruce or a Mahogany. It has powerful overtones and a crystal clear character, devoid of the idiosyncrasies of woodier, richer tonewoods like Cedar and Maple. Striped Ebony refers to its subtle brownish streaks.

Ebony is a fantastic partner for Spruce, and not only because of its analogous tonal profile. Ebony is among the darkest woods around and help emphasise the sandy white glow of Spruce. The two woods are made for one another. Both densely packed, durable, and incredibly bright in sound. This is why they are often found together, with Spruce as a top wood and Ebony for the back and sides.
